Multimedia Guide

Included with every ticket. This self-paced audio/video tour is available in 14 languages and covers all the main highlights of the Abbey.

Verger-Led Tour

Join a 90-minute tour led by an Abbey Verger. These popular tours cover the main church, Royal Tombs, Poets' Corner, and Cloisters. Bookable on the day at the Abbey for a small additional fee.

Family Tour

The multimedia guide includes a family-friendly version designed to engage younger visitors with interactive content and stories about the Abbey's famous figures.

Private Guided Tours

For a more personal experience, book a private tour with an accredited Blue Badge Guide. These tours can be tailored to your interests, focusing on royalty, architecture, or literary history.

Is a Guided Tour Worth It?

The included multimedia guide is excellent for a comprehensive self-guided visit. However, a verger-led or private guided tour offers a different level of engagement. Vergers share personal anecdotes and point out details you might otherwise miss, bringing the Abbey's history to life with expert commentary.

For first-time visitors or those with a deep interest in British history, a guided tour is highly recommended. The verger-led tours are particularly good value, offering access to areas not always on the main visitor route and the chance to ask questions directly to someone who works within the Abbey daily.
